As I sit down to write about this BOAM of the Month- I’m listening to Naughty by Nature “Feel me Flow”- and then my playlist will jump around sprinkled with Chiiild, Tupac, Sade, some Bey & Brent Faiyaz.. To name a few. Issa Vibe. I’m sure you can ugh “picture me rollin’ ”..
Why is this important? Because when you're a Babe On A Mish- your vibe attracts your tribe. And whether you're willing to admit it- everyday we are influenced by music, clothes and who we follow on various social outlets.
Throughout quarantine and most of this year we have grappled with the “new normal” and how to adjust. The one thing that remains the same- when you do finally get dressed & “feel cuter” or when you do your make-up.. you feel put together- you feel better- at the very least you feel “normal”.
Which is why this month's vibe is Lily Adel - a babe on a mish to include you in her CLYQUE - a clothing line of bodysuits that’s got so many babes snatched.
I wrote about CLYQUE the label- before here, but I recently got to chat with Lily, who if you follow on instagram- has mysterious vibe about her.. but it’s that vibe that has found a balance of making her audience just want more..
Like most of us early on, Lily thought going the school route would do her life justice, even figuring law school to be a good fit because well she can “argue her ass off”. As life happens, and things change so does “what’s right” and “what feels right”. As many of us can relate- in this exact moment- when in the last 8 months of the on and off economies open and shutting down- we’re stuck whether you like it or not- to go with the flow.
Lily’s flow started when she found herself working in retail. A passion for fashion had this babe waking up one day wanting more.. That was 8 years ago when she opened up her own retail store
Elle-A. Get it? Like L.A.. that's where Lily calls home.. Again- vibes.
And like most creative people- a store only sufficed her appetite for so long before she was craving more… turns out Lily didn’t need to look much further to find inspo. Remember when I said your vibe attracts your tribe? CLYQUE is a bodysuit line..

My personal collection includes: Sivan, Oralee, Tiana, Donya, Jenna, Sheera, annnd I really want to be besties with Belen, Lily, Brittney and Sophie .. Maybe also a Tara? Because in my mind I’m already in the CLYQUE..
What I find inspiring about this babe on a mish is recognizing a void in an already saturated area of clothing. I mean bodysuits have been around since what the 70s? I'm sure longer.. And though we have all owned a few- CLYQUE with its catchy name and buttery second skin- has had me shopping non-stop and never wanting to miss a drop.
“Less is always more, and I think that the beauty of the bodysuits; though they have been around forever-I just think finding classic basics is a lot harder than I anticipated it to be; to find a good medium (pricewise) that has good quality, and also that is universal, that can be worn with sweatpants..( as we saw during all phases of quarantine ) and you feel sexy at the same time, you feel good, you feel like your dressed up without being over the top - in the simplest minimalistic way”-
ONE HUNDRED FKN PERCENT. Also basics are everything right now, when fast fashion and keeping up with trends is something that may or may not be a thing for some- espesh during a pandemic.
